On Sundays, Chick-fil-A is closed, even for famous golfers

Despite being a world-famous golfer, Hideki Matsuyama struggles with the same issue as you and me: Chick-fil-A’s hours.

After winning the FedEx St. Jude Championship on Sunday, Matsuyama expressed regret for not being able to celebrate with food from the restaurant, but added that he should be able to do so on Monday.

According to a video shared by the PGA Tour, he told a translator that he would likely celebrate tomorrow at Chick-fil-A in Denver.

Traditionally, Chick-fil-A closes on Sundays so employees can relax, spend time with family, and attend church.

Hideki Matsuyama wins

The PGA Tour’s FedEx St. Jude Championship was won by Matsuyama by two strokes and he placed third in the FedExCup.

According to PGATour.com, it was Matsuyama’s second win of 2024. He also won The Genesis Invitational in February.

At TPC Southwind in Memphis, Matsuyama had a large lead heading into Sunday’s fourth and final round, but had to hold off challenges from other top players.

After a water shot on 14 and a double bogey on 15, he ended the day with birdies on 17 and 18.
